Money Is a Friend

Money is a friend.

Money is coming to me.

These are just some affirmations I was writing the other day (and then mum brought me 5 euro she found in the pocket of my jeans!:)

I fully believe in the power of affirmations - to some extent. They can put you in a different frame of mind and some lovely small miracles can happen.

That said, I believe Barbara Sher has a point too, in saying only that will not get you far: some action, plans how to get there, accountability partners and cheering/support squad are all important too!

Both Barbara Sher and Louise Hay are great teachers. They address different parts of the imagination and inspiration process.

Sooo... the bathroom is sparkly clean once again (thanks mum!), I'm about to declutter some of my clothes (the too small ones) and I'm feeling inspired once again. :)

I'll keep track of things in this accountability journal (and/or elsewhere).

I started affirmations and actually bought a lottery ticket a while ago ('If it's meant to be...?':) but I did get some money from freelance writing in the mail! Which was cool too!

I became re-inspired to edit my novel, and sis is cheering me on! (She watched a K-drama about a writer and an editor!:)

I was researching webhosts again - not sure whether to go for 'green' factor or security? (I'm leaning to security right now, those certificiates are nice, but still just that.)

For a few years, MONEY was not the center of my endeavours. But I'm going to try to make friends with it again. :)

We'll see what happens next? :)

'You don't have to like it to make money with it'

I haven't posted in a while, mainly cause I've been exploring this whole internet thing and some things were happening in RL (so I was too busy to post, sort of:).

I've been helping someone find support in RL and have learnt some things in the process myself..

I also thought about what my mum said: 'You don't have to like it to make money with it.'

I think that's essentially true. Ideally, yes, we'd find money with what we like doing, if it's necessary, we can make money with things we DON'T MIND doing too... And even something deemed 'boring' can be of great help to someone else... (and be beneficial to you both in long-term ways)

The whole 'do what you love and money will follow' is true to some extent, works better for some people than others I think.. It also depends on your personality/character: if you are too 'ADD'-ish and change interests quickly, maybe 'what you love' will be different each month - or each day, and you might be in trouble..

Mum actually said: 'When we were young we didn't think about whether we would LOVE doing it, we just did what had to be done, to get money.'

Of course it was different times then... Still, part of it rang true... As a nation, as a world, many of us are sort of 'spoilt'... And we have been brought up with some expectations that haven't come true, in some cases..

Sometimes it takes some humility and self-questioning to 'go back to basics', and re-evaluate things, and yourself...

I think I need to start making shorter posts. And more on topic. ONE topic. With pics. :)

I actually LIKE posts with pics, I just haven't gotten round to it yet. lol

Maybe start folders of cute pics to use. Though that would actually imply planning. :)

Mostly my posts have been majorly unpremeditated. lol

And it would be nice to give this blog more direction. lol (And possibly to any others...)

Though I still don't know if I want it to be semi super-secret to just keep track of progress or to actually post stuff here that I would want other people to read. lol

Decisions, decisions... hm?

Would MONEY Come to Your Bathroom? ;)

This is supposed to be an accountability blog, so I'll try to be honest. :)
And I'll try to post at least weekly.

I've had blog post ideas for this blog before, and keep getting across stuff that 'would be great to keep track of' so I hope to put some of it here.
The idea is to put stuff into Notepad first so I can keep privacy here. :)

I finally cleaned my bathroom after reading in a feng shui book that yikes you need to have a clean bathroom if you want money to come into your home!!
(Also, Dad said he'd unplug the computer if I didn't, before Easter. /Sigh./)

Feng shui books also say you need to declutter and have a place/flat/house that money would love to visit!! (SouthEast corner and some other directions may be especially relevant, this may be different for everyone according to time of birth etc.)

All Lifestyle Makeover websites emphasized the importance of decluttering too, so I thought heck, let's go for it.

Hmm.

I even started re-reading Julie Morgenstern again. And was greatly inspired.

However, in the world of Mum and Dad apparently getting the 'small garage' ready has priority. And then some furniture could be moved there, and then some of my old furniture could be moved there and some Granny's furniture could be put up in the attic... It's been driving me crazy, as you can imagine!! :)
I empty a closet and mean to be rid of it, and then it's a no go.

Got some cardboard boxes at a store, many of old notes from Uni etc are going in there and into the 'unlivable' space... It's been difficult to sort through paper but Julie Morgenstern is merciless, and so am I. (Just kidding, I'm really not. I mostly just box and rearrange and take notes, don't really toss things, that wouldn't be Zero Waste/eco, would it??)
Then, I'll try to find space for all my 'artsy materials' (stuff I have no other idea what to do with :)

So it seems like Mission Impossible, somewhat.

Meanwhile, sis has gotten a brand new bathroom (sort of). And is very happy of it (though I still think it could be designed better!! :)

I thought about my money goals: the idea of earning money with passive income anonymously appeals to me very much.
I'll also do some RL stuff I suppose (though I already felt somewhat not-so-happy I took on some stuff lol).

My attic flat (and the bathroom) are still not really 'presentable' to anyone with LOTS of money haha (it's tons better though!) It's a work in progress I guess!! :)
(And I don't want to watch ApartmentTherapy so much cause it'd only make me depressed lol.)

I don't know if I'll be able to create the type of living space I'd like, so I gave myself more leeway: to create 'life of my dreams' in 10 years or so.... Mostly: PEACE and SPACE and such... :)

It felt much more reassuring and relaxing.

Sis has a balcony where one can have relative peace even if all else is overcluttered and turned upside down. And guess what? I had a hunch the neighbour was almost a bit jealous of me sitting on the balcony, writing, while she had to go to a family do, kids in the car, etc. (Of course I'm kinda jealous of her pretty flat and the family/kids too!:)

Julie Morgenstern still needs to meet my dad though.

I've gotten better at asking him for each day and week again what plans there are ahead. (Still some surprises though yikes, partly due to weather and other people's plans!!)

If there's noisy drilling from renovation I can go take a walk and read/write at a cottage in the hills. (Would be perfect if I didn't smell candles from a cemetery yikes!!) I have some other options, they don't seem so appealing for rainy days though (most include some walking/hiking, or perhaps car use, yikes.)

The fairytale manuscript still hasn't been found: Where the heck is it??

The fun thing about decluttering and organizing is that you sometimes find the most unexpected things, and sometimes things just 'disappear' lol!

I can't wait to have my own mini-kitchen in the attic, and hopefully some more peace of mind.

Where Is My Manuscript??

I really wanted to sign up a domain name today: BUT WHAT??

Something relatively anonymous and unrelated, so even if I did get recognized I could laugh it off and it wouldn't be a big deal lol.

And I wanted to start typing up my kiddie story: but WHERE IS THE MANUSCRIPT?? Aaargh!!
(need to sort my papers first I guess huh??) lol!!

Pat of Smartpassiveincome.com sort of inspired me to do it, and to do some more FB networking: it can be done FAST but it can't be done EASY!! Very inspiring, and reassuring!!
What's a little bit of misery compared to some FUN and success, hmm?? lol!!

New Blog, New Life, New Summer - umm, Spring!

I know this is kinda sudden, but I just HAD to create another blog.

Like I didn't have enough of them already. Ha!

(Most of them lie around half-empty and half-forgotten, while I have big plans for them: to buy proper domain names & such!!)

I've been afraid to monetize my eco blogger blog, although Blogger wants me to do so! It keeps offering me Amazon Affiliates, AdSense and other stuff to perk it up!!

But how can I call myself a true eco blogger if I monetize it that way, hm?

True, I actually signed up on Amazon Affilaites - a while ago already (and not completely sure if I'm loving the 'not-so-very-random' nickname I got myself there, it would probably work with the eco blog but look very strange elsewhere.. So I don't know whether to get a new affiliate account/name, or can you just get a new additional 'nickname' with the same account - and where the HECK is my password?? Huh?!)

Yes, it's THAT bad!!

I've never been Organization Queen or Miss Organized, but since I got hooked online (about 10 years ago) it's only gotten progressively worse.

Apparently more than 5 hours computer time a day can cause depression, insomnia, and other lovely stuff: anxiety was mentioned, being "reluctant to get up for work in the mornings", sleeping problems and not "getting along" with colleagues well.

"Previous studies have focused on how too much screen time can cause physical afflictions, such as headaches, eye strain, and backache." (I can vouch for backache and neckache myself, especially if you have a bad writing desk/computer table!! I still need to get a better one!!)

Read more in the Daily Mail - I thought there was a reference to poor memory/concentration problems in there too, but apparently I came across that somewhere else? (Or just considered it due to my, uhm, memory and concentration problems. There are other people asking about it though.)

There's an article about Too Much Computer and Screen Time Leading to Poor Concentration on Ezine articles, not sure how reliable it is, if you're interested in this, double-check on your own if needed!!

Also, the internetz aren't very eco, are they?

Knowing all this, and having had a problem with internet addiction in the past, how wise is it to try to make money from the interwebs? (I don't dare to go to Twitter or Facebook anymore much, huh!!) Aren't they essential for social networking and getting your message out there?

Wouldn't it be more sane to just, uhm, earn money in RL? Doing something non-computer related? Or a combination of RL & online? But what?
